From a small business in Silverdale to one of New Zealand's leading suppliers of specialist plywood panels, our journey has always been driven by quality products, strong relationships and a passion for helping people build something exceptional.
Three decades in the making.
Every milestone has helped shape who we are today.
Where It All Began
Founders Denis Jaggar and Paul Webber purchased the Silverdale business of Gibson Wood Products, marking the beginning of Plytech. Just a few months later, the business moved to Bowden Road in Mt Wellington as the foundations for future growth were established.
Room to Grow
As our product range and customer base expanded, we moved to new premises in Highbrook. It was another important step in supporting the growing demand for specialist plywood products across New Zealand.
A New Home in Highbrook
We moved across the road into larger, purpose-built premises. Our new home gave us more room to grow, showcase our products and continue providing customers with an extensive range of plywood solutions.
A New Chapter
Plytech was acquired by Big River Industries Ltd, an Australian public company with a long history in manufacturing and distributing plywood and other building products. The acquisition enabled Denis and Paul to retire while Plytech continued building on the legacy they created.
Growing Together
From an original team of three to 25 people, our growth has been built on knowledge, experience and long-standing relationships. Many of our team members have been with us for more than 10 or even 20 years, bringing valuable expertise to everything we do.
